South Africa

We have been working with South Africa for some weeks. Please tell me something about the country.

In old day there were only black people in South Africa, but then the white men come and there were apartheid in many years until Nelson Mandela fight against and went I prison, 27-28 years  after he get out and went to president.

There are allot of color on the South Africa flag: white for white people, black for black people, blue for the sea around Africa and I can’t remember what red, and green was for.

There are a ceremony  then the child went adult like a confirmation, the  girl learn to take care of the house and cooking and the men learn to work and survive.

Who is Nelson Mandela

Tell me what you know about Nelson Mandela. You are not going to make a long and detailed biografy - pretend that I don't know this man. How would you introduce him for me?

Nelson Mandela is a hero from Africa who live in the apartheid time and give allot of time from his life to fight for the rights to black people in Africa, his father was chief so he was a kind of prince, he go to school and because he was clever later he go to university.

Nelson was not so old then he left to Johannesburg alone, in Johannesburg a lot of people fighting apartheid, Nelson now how the white men treated black people so he joined the ANC.

And he became the leader of ANC because everybody likes him.

After a lot of demonstration he saw that demonstration isn’t allot so ANC build army to fight against.

The White men get worried and send Nelson in prison called Robben Island.’

After 28 years he get out and Nelson get the first black president, and he get president until 1999.

-Apartheid:

Apartheid it’s to put Black people apart for example:

When the white people come to South Africa they don’t want to live together with the black people so they build special toilets, benches, parks… and the black may even vote.

- Segregation:
To made special toilet, bench, park, restaurent and ...

-Discrimination:
To put someone apart  because you don`t like them.
